Clock Display Missing Segments 1.1) With car stereo and display removed from vehicle. |

2.1) Remove four screws at back of display unit securing clock display module to mounting bracket. | ||
3.1) Remove clock display. | ||
4.1) Remove six screws securing clock display. | ||
5.1) With flat head screwdriver, pry top edge of clock display to release. | ||
6.1) With flat head screwdriver, pry bottom edge of clock display to release. | ||
7.1) Release and separate clock display. | ||
8.1) Remove printed circuit board with cover. | ||
9.1) Slide clock display panel from front panel. | ||
10.1) Check and/or clean front display cover. | ||
11.1) On printed circuit board, resolder both sides of surface mount resistor. | ||
12.1) Release to latches on each side of display crystal. | ||
13.1) Remove display crystal from mount. | ||
14.1) We placed double sided
sticky tape (approximately 1/8/ inch in thickness) along edge of ribbon
cable at display to add thickness. Remove only one side of double sided
sticky tape and apply to ribbon cable. Reassemble and check. Note - do not attempt to solder ribbon cable to display, heat melts the ribbon cable. Adding this tape to the display presses the ribbon cable onto the display and brings all segments back. |
