Buick Rendezvous Car Stereo Removal and Replacement

How to Replace Car Stereo, Remove and Install 1.1) Set Parking Brake. Shift to low gear.
1.2)Driver's side, below dash, remove screw along bottom of front knee panel.
Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 2.1) Remove second screw along bottom edge of bottom front knee panel.
Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 3.1) Pry edge of bottom panel from dash releasing clips. All clips release with pry pressure.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Remove and Install 4.1) Right side of steering column, pry edge of bottom panel from dash to release clips.
Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 5.1) Release all clips on panel.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Remove and Install 6.1) Allow panel to rest on floor.
Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 7.1) Adjust steering column to full down position,
7.2) Left side of steering column, remove one steering column mounting bolt.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Remove and Install 8.1) Right side of steering column, remove second mounting bolt.

Note - Dropping steering column will provide several additional inches clearance in later steps. This will also aid in the dash removal without tearing the gear shift boot.

Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 9.1) Left side of steering column, pry edge of "Driver Information Center" panel from dash releasing clip.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Remove and Install 10.1) Pry edge of panel releasing remaining clips.
Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 11.1) Remove panel from dash, release trigger on connector to disconnect.

20.2) Lift panel up to remove.

Note - Be careful at gear shift boot, guide edge of panel around boot to keep from tearing. During reinstallation, watch clearance of dash panel at gear shift boot.

How to Replace Car Stereo, Remove and Install 26.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect and remove.
Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 27.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect and remove.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Remove and Install 28.1) Remove car stereo.
Replacing Car Stereo, Removing and Installing 29.1) When reinstalling front knee panel, lower panel opening aligns with peg to secure.

Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 1.1) Under steering column, remove one screw.

Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 8.1) With front edge released, push left side of cover toward front of vehicle to release hook on lower panel from upper panel. Remove bottom cover and set to side.
Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 9.1) Push gear shift boot down shaft for access to screw.
9.2) Remove Torx screw securing gear to steering column.

Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 11.1) Remove gear shift.
Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 12.1) Remove gear shift boot.
Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 13.1) Note side contour of gear shift boot for direction of proper installation of new gear shift boot.

Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 15.1) Push gear shift boot down shaft for access to screw opening.
15.2) Install Torx screw securing gear to steering column.

Bose Radio and Amplifier Repair and Removal 17.1) When removing dash panel around gauges, use caution, do not rip gear shift boot.

IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2) brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first. Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
