Ford Mustang Car Stereo Replacement and Installation
Car Stereo Installation '01-03 Metra Wire Harness 70-1771 Metra Kit 99-5026 '04 Metra Wire Harness 70-5520 Metra Kit 99-5026 1.1) Splice Metra wire harness to aftermarket car stereo wire harness. In most cases, wire harness will mate color for color. 2.1) Remove side mounting brackets from Metra Kit. 3.1) Install side mounting brackets to kit. Brackets are labeled for right and left. 4.1) Slide car stereo into kit. 5.1) Install mounting screws supplied with car stereo into side mounting bracket and corresponding mounting holes on car stereo. 6.1) Connect spliced Metra wire harness and car stereo wire harness to factory connector in dash. 7.1) Connect antenna and splice wire harness to car stereo. 8.1) Tuck wire harness back into dash. 8.2) Slide car stereo into dash and mount with original screws. 8.3) Now is a good time to check car stereo before complete installation of dash. 9.1) Completed installation.
Ford Mustang Front Door Speaker Removal and Replacement
Ford Mustang Front Door Panel and Speaker Remove and Replace 1.1) Gently pry and lift insert control panel from door panel. Passenger Door Panel 1.1) Remove screws securing connector to control panel. Drivers Door Panel 2.1) Release trigger on second connector and remove connector. 3.1) Remove exposed screws from insert panel cavity. 4.1) Reach through control panel cavity to release door handle insert panel and remove from handle. 5.1) Remove screw from front of door panel. 6.1) The door panel is held on by hooks, these hooks go into the door. 6.2) Lift door panel straight up out of window jam and over door lock to release hooks, remove door panel. 7.1) Remove screws securing speaker to door. 7.2) Release trigger at connector and disconnect connector. This is a 5 X 7 inch speaker, see Speaker Phasing above.
Ford Mustang Rear Deck Speaker Removal and Replacement
Ford Mustang Rear Deck Panel Speaker Removing and Installing 1.1) Lower rear seat backs. 1.2) Remove three exposed screws along bottom of rear deck panel. 2.1) Grasp rear deck panel. 3.1) Lift panel straight up to release and remove. 4.1) With pry tool, pry exposed panel pin from front edge of rear deck panel. 5.1) Repeat for opposite side. 6.1) Lift edge or rear deck panel up, this will release side edge from behind forward side panel. 7.1) Repeat for opposite side. 8.1) Pull rear deck panel, with sides released toward front of car to remove. 9.1) Remove screws securing rear deck speakers to remove, see Speaker Phasing above.
