Car Stereo Removal

Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 1.1) Remove ash tray.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 2.1) Remove exposed screws from ash tray removal
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 3.1) From under dash, driver side, (brake pedal is shown at left of this picture).
3.2) At upper cable, push small pin to release metal loop from lever.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo NOTE - In some cases you may find your self getting frustrated over these instructions. Skip to the cable removal instructions for behind the glove box. There is easier access and you will become more familiar with the process.

4.1) Follow cable back to securing bracket.
4.2) Push clip up to release cable.

Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 5.1) Repeat process from above for lower AC cable.
5.2) Find small pin to release cable loop.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 6.1) Remove cable loop.
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 7.1) Follow cable back to securing bracket.
7.2) Push clip down to release cable.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 8.1) Two released AC cables.
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 9.1)  Open glove box, push sides of glove box in to allow stops to pass and lower to full down position.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 10.1) Release third AC cable loop, same as above.
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 11.1) Follow cable back to securing bracket.
11.2) Push clip down to release cable.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 12.1) Released third AC cable.
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 13.1) Gently pull dash trim panel with AC controls from dash.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 14.1) You may have to feed AC control cable back into dash to allow panel to come forward.
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 15.1) Reach behind panel.
15.2) Release triggers on connectors at top of control panel to disconnect.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 16.1) Pull top of panel down to allow access to mounting screws on sides of car stereo.

NOTE - Don't remove dash trim panel, it is more difficult to route AC cables during installation.

Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 17.1) Remove car stereo.
 
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 18.1) Remove antenna and release trigger on connector to disconnect.
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo

Aftermarket Car Stereo Installation

Metra wire harness 70-7300
No installation kit needed

1.1) Splice car stereo harness to Metra wire harness. In most cases, these wires mate color for color.

Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 2.1) Remove brackets from factory car stereo.
2.2) Mount factory bracket to sides of aftermarket car stereo with mounting hardware supplied with aftermarket car stereo. Length of screw is important.
Remove, Replace and Install Car Stereo 3.1) Mate Metra and car stereo wire harness to factory wire harness in dash.
Hyundai Accent Removing, Replacing and Installing Car Stereo 4.1) Install connector into back of car stereo.
4.2) Install antenna lead into back of car stereo.
