Intermittent or erratic volume control. There are two possible repairs that may repair this problem. The following is a step by step process for possible repair after removal of car stereo from dash. | |
Gently pry around edges of face plate and frame of car stereo. | ||
Work around all edges, top, bottom and sides releasing locking clips. | ||
Remove face plate from car stereo. | ||
Remove all screws securing printed circuit board to face plate. | ||
Gently remove printed circuit board from face plate, volume control knob will release with slight pressure. | ||
Be sure all switch pad line up in their locations on face plate before reinstalling printed circuit board. | ||
With a Control/Contact Cleaner, spray
rheostat, rotate and repeat several times. (Repair #1) (This rheostat is not accessible from the face of the stereo) If you have found this information to be helpful, please CLICK HERE! |

On opposite side of printed circuit board. Repair all solder connections, both top and bottom sides of two white connectors. (Repair #2) |
