Audi TT How to Remove and Replace Front Door Speakers | |
Front Door Speaker Removal and Replacement | |
1.1) Grasp silver medallion at arm rest. | |
2.1) Twist counter clock wise to unlock. | |
3.1) Remove and set to side. | |
4.1) Remove exposed Torx T-30 screw. | |
5.1) At top front edge of door panel, pry rubber edge of insulation from door panel releasing securing tabs into door panel. | |
6.1) Pry along edge of rubber insulation releasing second tab. | |
7.1) Lift bottom edge of insulation up to release tongue from groove. 7.2) Pull insulation back verifying all tabs are released from door panel. |

8.1) At top back edge of door panel, pry rubber edge of insulation from door panel releasing securing tabs into door panel. | |
9.1) Pry along edge of rubber insulation releasing second tab. | |
10.1) Pry along edge of rubber insulation releasing third tab. | |
11.1) Pull insulation back verifying all tabs are released from door panel. | |
12.1) Grasp door handle and lift door panel up out of window jam to release door panel from door. 12.2) Pull top edge of door panel back for access to back of door panel. |

13.1) Locate wire harnesses and connectors on door panel to control panel. | |
14.1) Fold edge of door panel insulation back for access to connectors. | |
15.1) Locate connector locking trigger on connector. | |
16.1) Lift trigger on top of connector up to release lock. | |
17.1) Remove connector. | |
18.1) Lift trigger on top of second connector up to release lock. | |
19.1) Remove connector. | |
20.1) Lift triggers on sides of third connector up to release lock. | |
21.1) Remove connector. | |
22.1) Lift triggers on sides of fourth connector up to release lock. | |
23.1) Remove connector. Note - Passenger's door has less connectors. |

24.1) Locate door handle cable. | |
25.1) Door handle cable is secured to door panel. | |
26.1) Pull securing base of cable from door panel to release. | |
27.1) Twist end of cable to release hook on cable from assembly. 27.2) Remove door panel and set to side. |

28.1) Door panel is secured to door with hooks along edge of panel. | |
29.1) Hooks secure door panel to door along edge of door. | |
30.1) Remove screws on back of door panel securing speaker and remove. | |
31.1) During reinstallation of door panel, rubber insulation guides onto door. | |
32.1) Push tabs into place on door panel to secure. | |
