Buick Riviera Car Stereo Removal and Replacement

Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 1.1) Along top of dash panel under top dash, are mounting clips. See "Anchor Clips" below.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 2.1) Push center tab on anchor clip in to release.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 3.1) Remove anchor tab from panel.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 4.1) Repeat this process for next tab along top of dash panel.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 5.1) Repeat this process for all tabs along top of dash panel.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 6.1) Push up slightly on upper dash panel while pulling down on lower panel.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 7.1) Release lower panel across dash.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 8.1) Remove panel from dash and set to side.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 9.1) Open glove box, this will allow access to a screw securing side panel, remove screw.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 10.1) Remove side panel.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 11.1) Remove one exposed screw from panel removal.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 12.1) Remove screw along top of dash panel exposed from removing upper panel earlier.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 13.1) Remove all screws along top of dash panel.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 14.1) Pull side panel from dash.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 15.1) Remove exposed screw from side panel removal.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 16.1) Starting at corner, gently pull from dash releasing clips.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 17.1) Release bottom edge of dash panel across entire dash.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 18.1) Lift upper dash panel up across dash while pulling lower dash panel forward. The wood grain panel has mounting latches that are behind the latches from the upper panel.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 19.1) Release the lower wood grain dash panel across entire dash.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 20.1) Pull bottom edge of panel away from dash first, do not remove.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 21.1) To left of steering column, reach behind panel, release trigger on connector and disconnect.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 22.1) To right of steering column, reach behind panel, release trigger on connector and disconnect.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 23.1) Move entire dash panel to right to remove from steering column and remove panel.
Removing Car Stereo, Install and Replace 24.1) Remove screws securing car stereo to dash and pull from dash.
Replacing Car Radio, Installing and Remove 25.1) Reach behind car stereo, remove antenna and release trigger on connector to disconnect.

26.1) Center tab pushed in for removal.
26.2) Center tab pushed back for mounting.
26.3) Center tab flush, when installed.

Replacing Speakers, Removal and Install 1.1) Lift bottom edge of speaker grill from door panel.
1.2) Pull speaker grill down, releasing top clips.

GM Wire Harness Diagram, Wire Color Codes and Pin Configuration Wire color codes and wire diagrams
IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2) brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first. Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
