How to Remove and Replace Car Stereo
1.1) Remove six screws securing trim panel to
dash.
1.2) Remove dash trim panel.
2.1) Remove two screws securing car stereo to
dash.
2.2) Pull car stereo forward, remove antenna and connectors.

1.1) Remove
two screws securing speaker grill to dash.
2.1) Pry edge of speaker grill
up and remove speaker grill with attached speaker.
2.2) Disconnect speaker connector and remove two screws securing speaker to
grill.

1.1) Push clip up and out of
release clip.
2.1) Drop end of speaker cradle
and release clips from opposite end.
2.2) Remove connector.
*NOTE - When installing new speakers be careful that
speaker leads do not short against frame.

Why purchase the aftermarket wire harness? Installation is easier, no guess work with wire color codes and a Headache Saver!Factory wire colors codes are not universal. See Aftermarket Videos above.
We discourage cutting the factory wire harness.
This section aids in troubleshooting and determining wire color codes, phasing for speaker hook up, locating power wires for installing external devices and add-ons.

1978 - 1992
IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2)
brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first.
Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping
yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
