Monte Carlo How to Remove and Replace Radio Monte Carlo How to Remove and Install Car Stereo Speaker and amplifier removal below 1.1) Open glove box and remove contents. 2.1) Left side of glove box, push side restraint string down while lifting edge of glove box up to release restraint through opening. 3.1) Right side of glove box, gently pry side restraint pin from side of glove box. 4.1) Remove restraint pin and allow glove box to open down toward floor. 5.1) Remove one exposed screw left side of glove box opening. 6.1) Grasp fuse box side dash cover, driver's side and remove. 7.1) Remove one exposed screw side of dash at fuse box opening. 8.1) Lower right below dash, driver's side, push first lock toward front of car to release. 9.1) Lower left below dash, driver's side, push second lock toward front of car to release. 10.1) Drop lower panel toward floor. 11.1) Locate courtesy light on back of dropped panel. 12.1) Twist courtesy light to release from panel. 12.2) Remove panel and set to side. 13.1) Remove one screw bottom left on front dash panel below hood release. 14.1) Remove one screw bottom right on front dash panel. 14.1) Gently pry left side of front dash panel below steering column from dash releasing clip. All clips release with pressure. 15.1) Gently pry right side of front dash panel below steering column from dash releasing clip. 16.1) Locate connector on back of panel. 17.1) Lift trigger on connector to release and remove connector. Set panel to side. 18.1) Adjust steering wheel to lowest position. 19.1) Gently pry edge of ignition key trim ring panel from dash. 20.1) Work around edge of ignition key trim ring panel releasing all clips. 21.1) Remove ignition key trim ring and set to side. 22.1) Gently pry top left edge of dash panel from dash releasing clips. 23.1) Gently pry bottom left edge of dash panel from dash releasing clips. Left of steering wheel column. 24.1) Gently pry bottom right edge of dash panel from dash releasing clips. Right of steering wheel column. 25.1) Gently pry across top of dash panel releasing clips. 26.1) Work across top of dash prying panel from dash releasing clips. 27.1) Gently pull entire dash panel from dash. 28.1) Reach behind panel at Emergency Flasher switch and locate connector. squeeze trigger into connector to release and remove. 29.1) Squeeze trigger into connector to release and remove. 30.1) Work trim panel away from dash, over steering wheel and remove for access to car stereo. 31.1) Remove two car stereo mounting screws left side. 32.1) Remove one car stereo mounting screw right side. 33.1) Pull car stereo from dash. 34.1) Release trigger on first connector. 35.1) Squeeze trigger on connector into connector to release and remove. 36.1) Squeeze trigger on second connector to release and remove. 37.1) Grasp antenna jack on car stereo. 38.1) Pull antenna jack from car stereo to remove. 39.1) Remove car stereo. Note - For aftermarket car stereo installation we suggest the correct aftermarket wire harness, antenna adaptor and installation kit.
Monte Carlo Amplifier Removal and Replacement Monte Carlo How to Remove and Replace Amplifier Amplifier is located in trunk along bottom of rear deck. 1.1) Locate amplifier lock mounting. Passenger side of amplifier has connectors.. 2.1) Push lock toward center of amplifier to release lock. 3.1) Locate second amplifier lock mounting. 4.1) Push lock toward center of amplifier to release lock. End of amplifier will drop from rear deck. 5.1) At opposite end of amplifier, release same two locks. Entire amplifier will drop from rear deck. 6.1) Locate connector with blue lock tab. 7.1) Squeeze tab toward center of connector, end of tab will lift, remove connector. 8.1) Second connector, squeeze tab down to release from upper lock, remove connector. 9.1) Remove amplifier.
