Chevrolet Lumina and Monte Carlo How to Remove and Install Car Stereos

How to Replace Car Stereo, Removal and Installation 1.1) Remove one screw, lower left of panel under steering column.
Removing Car Radio, Replacement and Installation 2.1) Remove one screw, lower right of panel under steering column.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Removal and Installation 3.1) Remove one screw bottom left of panel under steering column.

Removing Car Radio, Replacement and Installation

4.1) Gently pry one panel tab from bottom right of panel.
4.2) Gently pry one panel tab from bottom left of panel.

How to Replace Car Stereo, Removal and Installation 5.1) Grasp lower dash panel below steering column and pull toward seat to release.
5.2) Let panel set on floor.
Removing Car Radio, Replacement and Installation 6.1) Grasp edge of top left dash panel and gently pull from dash releasing clips.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Removal and Installation 7.1) Work your way across top of dash, along right side then along bottom releasing clips.

NOTE - Caution! Be careful of Emergency Flasher switch. Lift panel over switch, don't apply any pressure to switch.

Removing Car Radio, Replacement and Installation 8.1) Lift right side of dash panel up, release over steering column and Emergency Flasher switch and set panel to side.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Removal and Installation 9.1) Remove screws securing car stereo to dash.
Removing Car Radio, Replacement and Installation 10.1) Pull car stereo forward from dash.
How to Replace Car Stereo, Removal and Installation 11.1) Remove antenna and release trigger on connector to disconnect.

How to Remove and Replace Front Speakers

Speaker Replacement, Removal and Installation 1.1) Remove four screws from door panel. (One is in the shadows in this picture by speaker.)
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Installation 2.1) Remove one screw.
2.2) Remove panel by pulling door open handle for play.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Installation 3.1) Disconnect door lock/unlock connector.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Installation 4.1) Remove wood grain panel, starting at arrow. Releasing six clips.
Speaker Replacement, Removal and Installation 5.1) Remove one torx screw.
5.2) Grab door pull handle and lift door panel straight up, releasing all hooks from door panel into door.
5.3) Disconnect connector at window switch and set door panel to side.

*NOTE - Left door panel is the same except you need to remove two more connectors from side view mirror control.

Speaker Replacement, Removal and Installation 6.1) Remove four screws securing speaker to door.

How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 1.1) Remove two bolts securing bottom cushion.
1.2) Remove bottom seat cushion feeding seat belts through openings.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 2.1) Remove three nuts securing bottom of rear seat back.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 3.1) Drop rear seats down for access to one bolt on right side under felt cover.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 4.1) Drop rear seats down for access to one bolt on left side under felt cover.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 5.1) Remove seat back.
5.2) Grab rear package shelf cover and pull toward front of car.
5.3) Feed seat belts through slot on panel.
How to Replace Speakers, Removal and Install 6.1) Remove four bolts on each speaker and remove, disconnect wire harness.

IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2) brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first. Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
