Car Stereo and Speaker Remove, Replace and Install

	Dodge Dakota How to Remove and Install Car Stereo
	1.1) Remove screws along bottom edge of panel under steering column.
	2.1) Pull panel forward from dash releasing clips and set to side.
	3.1) Pull dash panel from dash releasing clips. 3.2) Remove connectors from panel and set to side.
	4.1) Remove two 10mm bolts securing car stereo to dash. 4.2) Pull car stereo forward, release antenna and connectors. *NOTE - Pointing out clips that remained in their slots and were not removed with panel. Remove all clips from dash and reinstall on trim panel.

Front Door Panel Speaker Removal and Replaceing
	Remove, Replace and Install Front Speaker and Door Panel
	1.1) Remove one screw at hand hold on door panel.
	2.1) Pull door open handle back. Locate Torx screw.
	3.1) Remove Torx screw.
	4.1) Remove screw at top front edge of door panel.
	5.1) Remove screw bottom front edge of door panel.
	6.1) Remove screw bottom back edge of door panel.
	7.1) Roll window down and note position of window crank.
	8.1) Push in on door panel, separate window crank from window crank plastic washer. 8.2) Look down edge of door panel and locate "C" clip securing handle to door panel.
	9.1) Use needle nose pliers or hook tool, locate "C" clip and remove..
	10.1) Removed "C" clip.
	11.1) Remove window crank and washer.
	12.1) Install "C" clip back onto window crank. During reinstallation, window crank will push and lock back onto shaft.
	13.1) Help - When using pick tool or needle nose pliers, locate "C" clip.
	14.1) Help - Hook or grasp "C" clip and remove from window crank.
	15.1) Grasp door handle.
	16.1) Pull door panel straight up out of window jam and release panel over door lock pin.
	17.1) Reach behind top edge of door panel and locate connector.
	18.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect and remove. Note - Trigger is located on side of connector, squeeze trigger into connector to release and remove.
	19.1) Locate door open handle linkage on door panel.
	20.1) Locate linkage lock on end of linkage on door panel.
	21.1) Twist lock to side to release linkage.
	22.1) Remove linkage from door open handle.
	23.1) Remove door panel and set to side. Door panel has several hooks.
	24.1) All hooks must align with hook slots on door before pushing door panel down to lock in place when reinstalling.
	25.1) Remove screws securing speaker to door panel.
	26.1) After removing screws, you have two options. Spread locks at edge of mount to remove speaker to reinstall factory speaker into bracket. Or, remove entire bracket with speaker for aftermarket speaker installation with special mounting kit.
	27.1) Lift trigger on side of connector to release and remove connector.

Rear Side Speaker Removal, Replacement and Installation

	Removing, Replacing and Installing Rear Side Speaker
	1.1) Below rear window, gently pry edge of trim panel along back of vehicle releasing clips. All clips release with pressure.
	2.1) Work down edge of rear trim panel releasing clips.
	3.1) Remove rear trim panel and set to side.
	4.1) Check area where panel was removed for any remaining panel clips.
	5.1) Pry panel clips from vehicle to remove.
	6.1) Place clips into slots on panel ready for reinstallation.
	7.1) Open door, pry back edge of lower door jam panel from vehicle releasing clips.
	8.1) Work forward on edge of panel releasing clips.
	9.1) Remove door jam panel and set to side.
	10.1) At front seat belt restraint, gently pry at bottom of cover to release.
	11.1) Lift seat belt restraint cover up to unlock.
	12.1) Remove cover and set to side.
	13.1) Remove Torx T-50 bolt from seat belt restraint.
	14.1) Set seat belt restraint to floor.
	15.1) Along back edge of panel, remove one upper screw exposed from rear panel removal.
	16.1) Along back edge of panel, remove one lower screw exposed from rear panel removal.
	17.1) Open side window, this will move window handle out of the way for later steps in removal.
	18.1) Along back top edge of upholstered panel, remove one exposed screw from rear panel removal.
	19.1) Along back top edge of upholstered panel, remove remaining exposed screw from rear panel removal.
	20.1) With screws removed, lift rear panel up to unlock strap from back of vehicle.
	21.1) Push strap down to unlock from upholstered cushion.
	22.1) Remove strap and set to side. Removing straps will organize them so they are not lost in moving upholstered panel.
	23.1) Remove rear upholstered panel and set to side.
	24.1) Note slots on back of upholstered panel for installing straps during the reinstallation process.
	25.1) At top edge of side panel at door jam, gently pry panel from side of vehicle releasing clips.
	26.1) With clips from top edge of side panel released, work your way down front edge of panel releasing remaining clips.
	27.1) Release all remaining clips along front edge of side panel.
	28.1) Behind side window, gently pry top edge of panel from side of vehicle releasing clips.
	29.1) With top back edge of panel released, grasp rear seat belt strap and work out of slot on panel.
	30.1) With rear seat belt strap out of slot, work down back edge of panel.
	31.1) With seat belt strap free, do not forget to feed strap back up to opening in panel during reinstallation.
	32.1) With all clips released on side panel, grasp bottom of side panel while pulling top edge of panel away from side of vehicle.
	33.1) Lift panel up to release two hooks on back bottom of side panel.
	34.1) Two hooks on side panel will have to aligned to reseat into slots at bottom of side of vehicle when reinstalling. See back of side panel for hooks be reinstalling.
	35.1) Remove panel and set to side.
	36.1) Remove screws securing speaker to side of vehicle. 36.2) Repeat removal instructions for opposite side of vehicle.
	37.1) When reinstalling side panel, align adjustable seat belt nut attachment to hole in panel.
	38.1) When reinstalling panel, pull weather stripping on door jam behind side panel to cover edge of panel.
