Mustang Front Speaker Removal and Replacement |

1.1) Gently pry trim ring from
subwoofer speaker releasing clips. All clips release with pry pressure. |
 |
2.1) Remove trim ring from
subwoofer speaker and set to side. |
 |
3.1) Remove front screws
securing subwoofer speaker to door panel. |
 |
4.1) Along front top edge of
door panel, remove one screw. |
 |
5.1) Along front bottom edge
of door panel, remove one screw. |
 |
6.1) Along back edge of door
panel, remove two screws. |
 |
7.1) Along back bottom edge of
door panel, remove one screw. |
 |
8.1) Along bottom edge of door
panel, remove two screws. |
 |
9.1) From door open handle
cavity, gently pry edge of insert panel from opening. |
 |
10.1) Remove insert panel from
door open handle cavity and set to side. |
 |
11.1) Remove exposed T30 Torx
screw from opening. |
 |
12.1) Gently pry top edge of
small triangular trim panel from door releasing clips, remove panel and
set to side. |
 |
13.1) On arm rest, at hand
hold, gently pry small insert panel from door releasing clips. 13.2)
Remove small insert panel and set to side. |
 |
14.1) Locate exposed screw. |
 |
15.1) Remove T30 Torx screw. |
 |
16.1) Gently pry leading edge
of arm rest control panel from door releasing clips. |
 |
17.1) Remove control panel
from door panel. |
 |
18.1) At back of control
panel, release trigger on window switch connector to disconnect and
remove. Set control panel to side. |
 |
19.1) Remove exposed screw
from control panel removal. |
 |
20.1) Lift entire door panel
up out of window jam to remove from door.
20.2) Release trigger on door lock connector to disconnect and remove. |
 |
21.1) At door speaker, release
trigger on connector to disconnect and remove. |
 |
22.1) Locate door open handle
cable linkage. |
 |
23.1) End of cable insulation
locks into door panel, pull from lock to release cable. |
 |
24.1) Pull end of cable around
to opening at side of door handle to release end of cable from door panel.
24.2) Remove door panel and set to side. |
 |
25.1) Remove screws securing
speaker to door panel. |
 |
26.1) Pull speaker from door
panel. |
 |
27.1) At speaker, release
trigger on connector to disconnect and remove. Remove speaker. |
 |
28.1) Subwoofer enclosure and
speaker are part of door panel. |
 |
29.1) Locate screw at back of
subwoofer speaker enclosure on back of door panel. |
 |
30.1) Remove 10 mm bolt at
back of subwoofer enclosure to release subwoofer speaker from door panel. |
 |
31.1) Remove subwoofer speaker
from front of door panel. |
 |
32.1) Subwoofer wire harness
feeds through rubber grommet.
32.2) Gently pry rubber grommet from subwoofer enclosure to release. |
 |
33.1) Feed subwoofer speaker
wires through opening and remove subwoofer.
