Lexus LS460 How to Remove Car Stereo
and Navigation Guide |

1.1) Move both front seats to
full back position. |
|
2.1) Passenger's side, grasp
front edge of side console panel and pull to release clips. All clips
release with pressure. |
|
3.1) Work along top edge of
side console panel releasing clips. |
|
4.1) Remove panel and set to
side. |
|
5.1) Driver's side, grasp
front edge of side console panel and pull to release clips. |
|
6.1) Work along top edge of
side console panel releasing clips. |
|
7.1) Release all clips on side
panel, remove panel and set to side.. |
|
8.1) Open center console. |
|
9.1) Lift edge of small panel
at front of center console opening. |
|
10.1) Lift opposite edge of
small panel at front of center console opening. |
|
11.1) Remove small panel and
set to side. |
|
12.1) Unscrew gear shift knob. |
|
13.1) Remove knob and set to
side. |
|
14.1) With small flat head
screw driver, remove small panel with slot above "Shift Lock". |
|
15.1) Remove small panel and
set to side. |
|
16.1) Shift lock release
button is exposed. |
|
17.1) Push down on release
button. |
|
18.1) While pushing down on
release button, shift to low gear. |
|
19.1) Driver's side center
console, remove one 10 mm bolt. |
|
20.1) Remove second 10 mm
bolt. |
|
21.1) Grasp back edge of
center console panel and lift to release clips. |
|
22.1) Release both back edge
clips on center console panel. |
|
23.1) Work forward, both sides
of center console panel releasing clips. |
|
24.1) Release both forward
clips on center console panel. |
|
25.1) Lift center console
panel up over gear shift. |
|
26.1) Set entire panel into
driver's seat. |
|
27.1) For removal of ash tray,
tape top edge of panel. This will protect the removal from scratching any
panels. |
|
28.1) Tape right side of
panel. |
|
29.1) Tape left side of panel. |
|
30.1) Ash tray assembly, pry
left side of panel 45 degrees away from dash releasing clips. |
|
31.1) Ash tray assembly, pry
right side of panel 45 degrees away from dash releasing clips. |
|
32.1) Remove ash tray assembly
from dash. |
|
33.1) Release trigger on
connector to disconnect ash tray assembly. Squeeze trigger into connector
to release lock and remove. |
|
34.1) Set ash tray assembly to
side. |
|
35.1) We located one clips
hidden under edge of ash tray assembly from earlier removal of side panel. |
|
36.1) Install clip onto side
panel ready for reinstallation. |
|
37.1) Passenger side, locate
exposed opening. |
|
38.1) Looking up into opening,
locate one 10 mm bolt. |
|
39.1) Remove 10 mm bolt. |
|
40.1) Driver side, locate
exposed opening. |
|
41.1) Looking up into opening,
locate one 10 mm bolt. |
|
42.1) Remove 10 mm bolt. |
|
43.1) Place towel over center
console and gear shift for protection. |
|
44.1) Tape upper edge of car
stereo for protection. |
|
45.1) Tape right side of car
stereo for protection. |
|
46.1) Tape left side of car
stereo for protection. |
|
47.1) Reach into dash below
car stereo, pull car stereo forward to release clips. |
|
48.1) Pull left front edge of
car stereo from dash releasing clip. |
|
49.1) Pull right front edge of
car stereo from dash releasing clip. |
|
50.1) Pull car stereo from
dash. |
|
51.1) All clips align with
openings in dash when reinstalling. |
|
52.1) At back of car stereo,
remove antenna. |
|
53.1) Remove second antenna. |
|
54.1) There are many
connectors on the back of the car stereo, all connectors are keyed and
will fit only one spot when reinstalling. Squeeze trigger on connector to
release and remove. |

55.1) Squeeze trigger on
connector to release and remove. |
|
56.1) Squeeze trigger on
connector to release and remove. |
|
57.1) Squeeze trigger on
connector to release and remove. |
|
58.1) Squeeze trigger on
connector to release and remove. |
|
59.1) Squeeze trigger on
connector to release and remove. |
|
60.1) Squeeze trigger on
connector to release and remove. |
|
61.1) Remove car stereo. |
|
62.1) In car stereo opening,
up on left of navigation screen, remove one 8 mm screw. |
|
63.1) Remove one 8 mm screw
under navigation on right side. |
|
64.1) Reach into car stereo
opening and pull navigation system forward releasing clips. |
|
65.1) Pry top right edge of AC
vents from dash releasing clips and navigation. |
|
66.1) Pry top left edge of AC
vents from dash releasing clips and navigation. |
|
67.1) Pull navigation and AC
vents from dash. |
|
68.1) Pull navigation system
forward, remove all connectors. |
