Mercedes Benz C Class Car Stereo
Removal Guide |
|
1.1) Open ash tray cover. |
|
2.1) Push right side of ash
tray insert up to release insert. |
|
3.1) Remove ash tray insert. |
|
4.1) Open center console arm
rest cover. |
|
5.1) Set parking brake and
shift to mid gear.
5.2) From ash tray insert opening, grasp front edge of center console wood
panel. |
|
6.1) Pull front edge center
console wood panel up releasing clips, clips release with pressure. |
|
7.1) Pull center console wood
panel toward front of car releasing back edge of panel. |
|
8.1) Pull back edge of center
console wood panel up. |
|
9.1) Push center console wood
panel toward back of car while shifting to lowest gear. |
|
10.1) At right front edge of
ash tray insert holder, using small flat head screw driver, release lock
securing insert holder. |
|
11.1) At left front edge of
ash tray insert holder, release lock securing insert holder. |
|
12.1) Remove ash try insert
holder assembly up when released. |
|
13.1) Set assembly to side of
center console without removing connections. |
|
14.1) Gently pry edge of AC
vent cover from AC vent assembly. |
|
15.1) Work your way around AC
vent cover, releasing clips. |
|
16.1) Remove AC vent cover and
set to side. |
|
17.1) Gently pry right side of
left vent away from dash releasing right side clip. |
|
18.1) Gently pry left side of
left vent away from dash releasing left side clip. |
|
19.1) With side clips
released, gently lift vent slightly up. |
|
20.1) Remove vent from dash
and set to side. |
|
21.1) Repeat removal for right
vent. |
|
22.1) Remove two exposed Torx
screws in outer lower corners of vent assembly exposed from vent removal. |
|
23.1) Remove AC vent assembly
from dash. |
|
24,1) Release trigger on
connector to AC vent assembly. |
|
25.1) Remove AC vent assembly
and set to side. |
|
26.1) Remove exposed Torx
screw on left from AC vent assembly removal. |
|
27.1) Remove exposed Torx
screw on right from AC vent assembly removal. |
|
28.1) Reference location for
following steps. (Under edge of AC control and using a small flat head
screw driver). |
|
29.1) Under left edge of AC
control, locate metal spring clip. Insert flat head screw driver into end
loop on clip. |
|
30.1) Pull end of metal spring
clip down to release lock securing bottom left corner of dash stereo trim
plate to dash. |
|
31.1) Under right edge of AC
control, locate metal spring clip. Insert flat head screw driver into end
loop on clip. |
|
32.1) Pull end of metal spring
clip down to release lock securing bottom left corner of dash stereo trim
plate to dash. |
|
33.1) Pull top of dash stereo
trim plate from dash, locate connectors, release triggers on connectors to
disconnect and remove. |
|
34.1) Pull dash stereo trim
plate forward from top, allow gear shift to pass through opening on panel. |
|
35.1) Locate connectors at
bottom of dash stereo trim plate, release triggers on connectors to
disconnect and remove. |
|
36.1) On larger connector,
release trigger at side of connector. |
|
37.1) Light gray handle will
release and swing up. |
|
38.1) Swing handle up to stop,
this will release connector from socket. When reinstalling connector, be
sure handle is at top before seating into socket, then swing down to lock
in place. |
|
39.1) Remove dash stereo trim
plate and set to side. |
|
40.1) Remove one Torx screw
from left side of car stereo. |
|
41.1) Remove one Torx screw
from right side of car stereo. |
|
42.1) Car stereo and pocket
may be pulled from dash together. |
|
43.1) Remove antennas from car
stereo.
43.2) Release triggers on connectors to disconnect wire harnesses.
43.3) Release trigger on connector at fiber optic cable to disconnect. |
|
44.1) Separate car stereo from
pocket.
NOTE - Car stereo may be removed from dash
without pocket. |

45.1) Car stereo removed. |
