Aftermarket Installation
|
Because you have a fader control in the center console,
this is a Common Ground system. What is a Common Ground system? Back in
the days when this stereo was made, every speaker output had a positive
and negative lead. However, the negative lead was common to the battery
negative and every speaker negative. Today's car stereo has Floating
Ground. Still each speaker output from the stereo has a positive and
negative. But, the negative is not the same as the battery and each
speaker negative is separate and different from the others. This is a
rewire to each speaker. |
|
16.1) Locate the original speaker
leads from the stereo. These leads go to the console fader, then to the
speakers. |
|
17.1) Look back into the car
stereo opening, you will find two more speaker leads connected. |
|
18.1) Disconnect these speaker
leads. Disconnected, these speaker leads remove the common ground through
the fader to the front speakers. There is no need to rewire the front
speaker. Cut and splice. Rewire the rear speakers. |
