Removing and Replacing Rear Speaker |
 |
1.1) For better access to back seat, move front seats and backs forward. |
 |
2.1) Release center seat belt in back seat if attached. |
 |
3.1) Along front edge of passenger's side rear seat bottom, locate latch. |
 |
4.1) Push latch toward driver's side of car to release. |
 |
5.1) Lift rear seat bottom up to release edge of seat. |
 |
6.1) Along front edge of driver's side rear seat bottom, locate latch. |
 |
7.1) Push latch and lift front edge of seat bottom up to release. |
 |
8.1) Lift front edge of rear seat bottom up, verifying seat bottom is released. |
 |
9.1) Feed all seat belt locks through seat bottom. |
 |
10.1) Remove rear seat bottom and set to side. |
 |
11.1) Rear driver's side, bottom of side seat cushion locate bolt. |
 |
12.1) Remove bolt. |
 |
13.1) Push bottom of side seat cushion up. |
 |
14.1) Grasp top of rear side seat cushion and pull up. |
 |
15.1) Pull side seat cushion from back seat. |
 |
16.1) Remove side cushion and set to side. |
 |
17.1) Rear passenger's side, bottom of side seat cushion locate bolt. |
 |
18.1) Remove bolt. |
 |
19.1) Push bottom of side seat cushion up. |
 |
20.1) Grasp top of rear side seat cushion and pull up. |
 |
21.1) Pull side seat cushion from back seat.
21.2) Remove side cushion and set to side.

22.1) Push button at top of rear seat cushion, driver's side. |
 |
23.1) Pull rear seat back down for access to rear deck. |
 |
24.1) Push button at top of rear seat cushion, passenger's side. |
 |
25.1) Pull rear seat back down for access to rear deck. |
 |
26.1) Along front edge of rear deck panel locate three plastic clips. |
 |
27.1) Grasp center tab in clip and pull out approximately 1/4 inch. |
 |
28.1) With center tab pulled out, remove entire clip from deck.
28.2) Repeat clip removal for remaining clips along edge of panel.

29.1) At center brake light assembly, open cover. |
 |
30.1) Loosen bolt approximately one inch+. |
 |
31.1) From trunk side, locate courtesy light. |
 |
32.1) Driver's side of courtesy light, locate plastic clip for center brake light assembly. |
 |
33.1) Push clip toward driver's side of car and up to release center brake light from rear deck. |
 |
34.1) Passenger's side of courtesy light, locate plastic clip for center brake light assembly. |
 |
35.1) Push clip toward passenger's side of car and up to release center brake light from rear deck. |
 |
36.1) At rear deck, lift front edge of center brake light up. Center brake light assembly will come up but may not release. |
 |
37.1) How this front anchor bolt works!
In position shown, bolt is in lock down position to secure front edge of center brake light assembly.

38.1) Top of "t" part of bolt hinges. |
 |
39.1) Bolt becomes a single shaft to remove. After screw has been loosened, reach into opening to place bolt into correct position for removal. |
 |
40.1) Lift front of center brake light assembly up, locate bulb base and wire harness. |
 |
41.1) Grasp bulb base. |
 |
42.1) Twist to release base from center brake light assembly. |
 |
43.1) Center brake light assembly is keyed, align base when reinstalling. |
 |
44.1) Remove center brake light assembly and set to side. |
 |
45.1) To replace center brake light bulb, grasp base. |
 |
46.1) Pull bulb from socket and replace. |
 |
47.1) Bottom of rear deck, trunk side, locate metal clip toward driver's side. |
 |
48.1) Push clip toward front of car, this loosens rear deck panel from rear deck. |
 |
49.1) Pull rear deck panel from rear deck. |
 |
50.1) Pull rear deck panel down into rear seat for access to rear deck and speakers. |
 |
51.1) From trunk side, locate connector on speaker. |
 |
52.1) Squeeze trigger on connector into connector to release. |
 |
53.1) Remove connector. |
 |
54.1) Remove screws securing speaker to rear deck. |
 |
55.1) Remove speaker. |
 |
56.1) Replace 6 x 9 speakers. Bolt patterns on most speaker mate to original pattern.
56.2) Cut connector from wire harness and spice wires to connect speaker.

57.1) To install plastic clips along front edge of rear deck panel, align deck hole with opening. |
 |
58.1) Push base of clip into place. |
 |
59.1) Push center tab in to lock clip into place. |
 |
60.1) Reinstalling side panel, be sure seat belt is not pinched behind panel. |
 |
61.1) Back of side panels have a tab. |
 |
62.1) Tab mates to opening in metal bracket. |
 |
63.1) Place panel above original position. |
 |
64.1) Push panel down, tab should mate with opening in metal bracket. Pull top of panel toward front of car to check for tab mating with opening. |
 |
65.1) Place rear seat bottom into place, feed seat belt holder through seat. |
 |
66.1) Push rear seat bottom toward back of car to secure under rear seat back. |
 |
67.1) Mate pin on rear seat bottom with opening in clip. |
 |
68.1) Push front edge of seat bottom down to lock into clip. |
