"Din Tools"
Stereo Removal Tools
1.1) Insert "Din tools" into holes on both sides of
car radio.
1.2) Push tools slightly to the outside of the car stereo, this releases the lock mechanism,
pushing them to the side of the car stereo.
2.1) Pull car stereo forward from dash.
3.1) Disconnect antenna and
connectors from car stereo by releasing a trigger on connectors.

Metra Wire Harness 70-5514
No Kit Needed - Single Din Opening
1.1) Splice
aftermarket car stereo wire harness to Metra wire harness, they match color for color.
The Metra wire harness mates to the existing factory wire harness, plug and play.
2.1) Release the locks from
sides of car stereo mounting sleeve.
3.1) Slide the mounting sleeve
from the Car Stereo
4.1) Slide mounting sleeve into
original car stereo opening.
5.1) Place mounting sleeve in
to opening, pull original factory wire harnesses and antenna through opening. Mounting sleeve edge will mate to dash opening.
6.1) With a flat head screw
driver, bend tabs along inside edge of mounting sleeve to "Pinch Fit" to surrounding dash.
7.1) Bend tabs along bottom,
sides and top of mounting sleeve
8.1) Connect previous sliced
connectors to factory wire harness and car stereo. Plug antenna
lead into car stereo and slide car stereo into mounting sleeve
till it locks into place. Now install the amplifier bypass cable.

How to Replace and Install Front Speakers
1.1) Remove three screws from
door panel.
2.1) Unsnap trim panel from
around door open handle.
3.1) Pry window and door lock control panel loose from small
slot at bottom.
4.1) Remove door panel by beginning at bottom releasing nine clips.
4.2) Lift door panel up out of window jam and over door lock
pin.
4.3) Feed window and door lock panel through panel opening.
5.1) Release courtesy light with
half twist.
6.1) Remove four screws securing
5 x 7 inch speaker.

Rear Speakers
1.1) Push down on top edge of
car stereo speaker grill to release.
2.1) Pull car stereo speaker
grill up to release bottom edge.
3.1) Remove car stereo speaker
grill.
4.1) Remove four screws securing
car stereo speaker.
5.1) Release trigger on side of
car stereo speaker connector to release.
Installing Aftermarket Speakers and Phasing
6.1) Pioneer supplies car stereo speaker leads for
installation of their speakers.
7.1) Cut factory car stereo
speaker connector.
8.1) Determine car stereo
speaker polarity, (phase). It is important to wire the + and - of each
speaker properly for best sound quality.
8.2) Strip ends of factory car stereo speaker wires.

+ Pink with green stripe
+ Orange with red stripe
- Tan with yellow stripe
- Black with white stripe
9.1) Splice Pioneer's provide
speaker leads to factory speaker leads. Remember the polarity check above?
Be sure + and - are hooked up properly.
10.1) Use screws supplied with
Pioneer car stereo speakers to install.

Tip
When securing speaker be sure to protect speaker in case you slip from
mounting screw, this will save a puncture to the speaker.
11.1) One installed Pioneer car
stereo speaker, repeat steps for second speaker.

Accessing Amplifier and
Installing Amplifier Bypass Cable
Why Install Amplifier Bypass cable?
Factory Amplifier output power 25 - 35 watts per channel.
Aftermarket stereo output power 45 - 60 watts per channel.
Aftermarket 45 - 60 watts into factory amplifier will cause distortion above low volume settings and provide only 25 - 35 watts output. Bypass Amplifier for full power.
1.1) Remove all screws along
bottom or rear hatch jam and remove panel.
2.1) Remove screws along side
panel.
3.1) Gently pry panel pins from
side panels.
NOTE - All panel pins that will be
removed are old and brittle. Don't be upset when you crack or break these
pins it is a common occurrence.
4.1) Remove all panel pins up
side of rear side panel.
5.1) Remove all panel pins from
bottom side rear window frame panel.
6.1) Remove all panel pins from
top side rear window frame panel.
7.1) Pull back rubber boot over
seat belt bolt, remove 50mm torx bolt.
8.1) Remove screw in center of
panel between rear and side window.
9.1) Lift edge of carpet along
back, remove hidden screw.
10.1) Lift edge of carpet along
wheel well, remove one hidden screw.
11.1) Pull side panel back from
side of vehicle. The factory amplifier sits above wheel well bolted to
side of vehicle. Disconnect two connectors. One connector is plugged into
the top of the amplifier, the other is plugged into the bottom of the
amplifier as it is mounted to the side of the vehicle.
12.1) Use Amplifier Bypass cable,
connectors mate and allow the car stereo audio system to pass without the
use of the factory amplifier.
12.2) Tuck bypass cable behind side panel and reassemble side panel.
