COMMON PROBLEMS - Fm stereo indicator intermittent with static, squealing, poor and low audio also see Bose amplifiers. Back lighting dim - bad bulbs. No display, missing segments - defective display crystal (no longer available).

	Mazda RX7 Car Stereo and CD Player Removal
	1.1) With small flat head screw driver, gently pry bottom edge of small side panel from CD player releasing clips. All clips release with pressure.. Note - If you do not have the CD player, only car stereo will be removed.
	2.1) Pry along edge of small side panel releasing clips.
	3.1) Remove side panel and set to side.
	4.1) Pry along edge of small side panel releasing clips on opposite side of CD player. 4.2) Remove side panel and set to side.
	5.1) Pry along edge of small side panel releasing clips on side of car stereo player. 5.2) Remove side panel and set to side.
	6.1) Pry along edge of small side panel releasing clips on opposite side of car stereo player. 6.2) Remove side panel and set to side.

IMPORTANT NOTE - This car stereo has TWO antennas, they can ripped from the car stereo when removing from dash. See Front Tweeter and Bose Amplifier Removal below, removing side panel also accesses antenna connections, disconnect before removing stereo.

	7.1) For car stereo only, one set of "Din Tools", for car stereo and CD player two sets of tools are needed. Stereo Removal Tools
	8.1) Insert first tool into exposed opening on side of CD player until it clicks into place.
	9.1) Insert second tool into exposed opening on side of car stereo until it clicks into place.
	10.1) Insert third tool into exposed opening on side of CD player until it clicks into place.
	11.1) Insert fourth tool into exposed opening on side of car stereo until it clicks into place.
	12.1) Grasp ends of tools.
	13.1) Pull tools toward outside of of units and pull out from dash. Note - Car stereo and CD player have spring clips behind edge of dash. Pulling tool toward outside of units pulls springs behind dash in toward car stereo.
	14.1) Grasp left side tools simultaneously with right side of tools.
	15.1) Pull tools toward outside of of units and pull out from dash. 15.2) Remove units, remove connectors and antennas. Note - Both units have a rubber stop on the back for securing the unit in place. This rubber stop mates to a small opening in the back of the dash. With age these stops may stick and may cause difficulty when removing. Also, both units need to be removed simultaneously.

Mazda RX7 Center Tweeter Bose Amplifier Removal
	Mazda RX7 Front Tweeter Bose Amplifier Removal Note - There are two possible locations for the Tweeter Bose amplifier. The most common location is shown first.
	Location One of Two 1.1) Below glove box, left side, remove one screw.
	2.1) Below glove box, right side, remove one screw.
	3.1) Open glove box.
	4.1 Push left side of glove box in to release latch.
	5.1) Push right side of glove box in to release latch.
	6.1) Remove glove box assembly and set to side.
	7.1) Passenger's side of center console, pull center tab on clip out to release.
	8.1) Pry outer edge of clip to release.
	9.1) Remove clip.
	10.1) Locate second clip along edge of center console panel.
	11.1) Remove clip. 11.2) Remove side center console panel.
	12.1) In glove box cavity, locate screw and remove.
	13.1) Remove small panel from glove box cavity.
	14.1) Remove one 10 mm screw securing Bose amplifier exposed from small panel removal.
	15.1) Remove second 10 mm screw securing Bose amplifier.
	16.1) Lower Bose amplifier from behind side center console panel.
	17.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect and remove.
	18.1) Remove Bose amplifier.

Mazda RX7 Tweeter, Bose Amplifier Removal and Repair
	Location Two of Two 1.1) Unscrew the gear shift knob and lift up the small section of the center console. It pops up easily. No need to remove. 1.2) This exposes two screws at the center of the console. Remove these and the two screws to the rear of the console on either side behind the seats.
	2.1) Lift the rest of the console up to one side. The center amp will be in sight. 2.2)Two screws hold the amp in place. When these are removed the assembly is free. Note - The amp assembly includes the harness that secures rear console screws.

	Mazda RX-7 '93-95 Rear Bose Amplifier Removal with Acoustic Wave System (Pictures shown with Acoustic Wave removed) 1.1) Remove all screws and wing nuts from rear drivers side. 1.2) Disconnect Bose amplifier power connector.
	2.1) Remove all screws and wing nuts from rear passenger side.
	3.1) Remove Bose Acoustic Wave. 3.2) Remove screws securing bracket for Bose amplifiers to Acoustic Wave.

Mazda RX7 Front Door Panel and Bose Speaker Removal
	Mazda RX7 Front Door Panel Bose Speaker Removal
	1.1) Pry cap from door handle cavity. Note - for passenger's door panel removal see step 37.
	2.1) Remove cover and set to side.
	3.1) Remove exposed screw.
	4.1) Pry edge of insert panel releasing clips. All clips release with pressure.
	5.1) Pry front edge of insert panel releasing clips.
	6.1) Pry back edge of insert panel releasing clips.
	7.1) Remove insert panel and set to side.
	8.1) Remove one screw front top edge of door panel.
	9.1) Remove one screw front bottom edge of door panel.
	10.1) Remove one screw back bottom edge of door panel.
	11.1) Gently pry edge of small triangular panel from door releasing clips.
	12.1) Remove small triangular panel and set to side.
	13.1) Gently pry edge of panel at back of door panel releasing clips.
	14.1) Pry down edge of panel releasing all clips.
	15.1) Remove panel and set to side.
	16.1) Pry back edge of door panel from door releasing clips.
	17.1) Pry along bottom edge of door panel to front of door panel releasing clips. 17.2) Pry up front and rear edges of door panel releasing all clips.
	18.1) Pull bottom edge of door panel away from door verifying all clips have been released.
	19.1) Lift back and front edges of door panel up out of window jam at same time, this will release two clips along the top of the door panel.
	20.1) Grasp top edge of door panel.
	21.1) Pull top edge of door panel back for access to control panel connectors.
	22.1) Squeeze trigger in center of connector into connector to release and remove.
	23.1) Release trigger on second connector to remove, remove door panel and set to side.
	24.1) Check door for any remaining door panel clips.
	25.1) Pry door panel clips from door to release.
	26.1) Slide door panel clips into slots on door panel ready for reinstallation.
	27.1) Squeeze trigger on connector at Bose enclosure to release and remove.
	28.1) Remove first screw securing Bose enclosure to door with speaker and amplifier.
	29.1) Remove screw securing Bose enclosure.
	30.1) Remove screw securing Bose enclosure.
	31.1) Remove screw securing Bose enclosure.
	32.1) Remove screw securing Bose enclosure.
	33.1) Remove screw securing Bose enclosure.
	34.1) Pull top edge of Bose enclosure from door panel.
	35.1) Lift Bose enclosure up out of opening to remove.
	36.1) Bose speaker enclosure removed.
	Passenger's Door Panel Removal 37.1) Pry small cover from door panel below arm rest.
	38.1) Remove exposed screw.
	39.1) Pry control panel from top of hand hold releasing clips.
	40.1) Pull control panel from hand hold.
	41.1) Remove exposed screw. Note - Return to step 8 to continue.
