Two Styles of Removal
Two
common styles of window crank removal
Chevrolet Aveo '04-05
shown here. See below for some Fords and Imports
1) Roll window down and
remember window handle position for installing.
There is a special tool for
removing door handle clips. Most mechanics do not own one. There is a door
handle and a small plastic washer. There are two other ways to attempt the
removal.
1) Place a shop rag between
door handle and washer. Pull shop rag up and down to wedge into opening.
This may release the clip.
1) If you are unable to
release the clip in the above step, here is a second way you may be able
to remove this clip.
1) Push the door panel in
along with the washer, this will allow you to look down the edge of the
door and see the clip on the back of the window crank.
1) With a pick tool, hook the
door handle clip and pull to release.
1) Remove door handle and
washer. Don't forget to install washer when reassembling.
1) Removed door handle and
clip.
1) Immediately place clip onto
door handle. Door handle can be snapped back onto shaft when reinstalling.
Don't forget the original position of the handle.
