Nissan Altima Rear Speaker Removal |
|
1.1) Under front edge of
rear seat passenger side, locate bolt. |
|
2.1) Remove bolt. |
|
3.1) Remove bolt under front edge of driver side rear seat. |
|
4.1) Lift front edge of rear seat up. |
|
5.1) Release hooks along back edge of rear bottom seat
cushion from behind rear seat back cushion. |
|
6.1) Feed seat belt through opening in seat cushion. |
|
7.1) Feed second seat belt through opening in seat cushion. |
|
8.1) Remove rear bottom seat cushion from car. |
|
9.1) Below rear seat back, passenger side, remove one
screw. |
|
10.1) Below rear seat back, driver side, remove one screw. |
|
11.1) Pull center arm rest cushion down. |
|
12.1) Release latch and pull pass through door open. |
|
13.1) Bottom of pass through opening, grasp plastic
threshold. |
|
14.1) Pull threshold up and pull forward. |
|
15.1) Remove one exposed screw. |
|
16.1) Remove second exposed screw. |
|
17.1) Grasp bottom center of rear seat back cushion,
passenger side. |
|
18.1) While grasping bottom rear seat back cushion, driver
side. |
|
19.1) Lift rear seat cushion up to release from hooks.
19.1) With rear seat cushion released, feed seat belt behind cushion. |
|
20.1) Latches on back of seat cushion. |
|
21.1) Hooks along back of car, latches must align with
hooks when reinstalling rear seat cushion, push rear seat cushion down to
lock. |
|
22.1) Remove rear seat cushion. |
|
23.1) Push in on passenger side of rear center brake light
assembly. |
|
24.1) Pull back to release edge of center brake light
assembly. |
|
25.1) Pull center brake light from mount. |
|
26.1) Lift bottom edge of center brake light up for access. |
|
27.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect. |
|
28.1) Remove rear center brake light and set to side. |
|
29.1) Place pry tool under rear package shelf panel. |
|
30.1) Pry front edge of rear package shelf panel to release
clips. All clips release with pry pressure. |
|
31.1) Pry along edge of panel releasing all clips. |
|
32.1) With front edge of panel released, slide your hand in
under panel, pushing your hand toward back of panel to release remaining
clips.
Note - Use caution, plastic vents along
back edge of panel are brittle from age and sun damage. |

33.1) Bow center of rear panel up. |
|
34.1) Release passenger side of panel by pull toward front
of car. |
|
35.1) Release driver side of panel by pull toward front of
car. |
|
36.1) Remove rear panel and set to side.
Note - When reinstalling panel, be sure center brake light
connector is feed through opening in panel. |
|
37.1) Rear deck speaker has a deteriorated surround. This
will cause a distorted sound from the speaker with bass notes.
Note - Local speaker repair shops are able to re-foam these
speakers. |
|
38.1) Remove screws securing speaker to rear deck. |
|
39.1) Remove speaker from rear deck. |
|
40.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect. |
|
41.1) When installing aftermarket speakers, feed wires and
connector through opening. |
|
42.1) Remove wires and connector from opening. |
|
43.1) This will allow extra length in wires for splicing. |
|
44.1) Cut wires and see Speaker Phasing for correct hook up and install. |
