Oldsmobile Alero How to Remove and Install Car Stereo 1.1) Set Parking Brake and shift to mid gear. 2.1) Remove cup holder rubber insert and set to side. 3.1) Reach into bottom of front pocket cavity. 4.1) Remove mat at bottom of pocket cavity and set to side. 5.1) At front of gear shift knob, locate small slot. 6.1) Insert small flat head screw driver. 7.1) Gently pry gear shift clip from opening. 8.1) Grasp clip on gear shift and pull. 9.1) Remove clip from gear shift. 10.1) Grasp gear shift knob and pull up. 11.1) Remove gear shift knob and clip, set to side. 12.1) Gently pry back edge of gear shift trim panel to release clip. All clips release with pressure. 13.1) Work around all sides of insert panel releasing clips. 14.1) Lift gear shift panel up, 15.1) Rotate front edge of gear shift panel to passenger seat and let panel rest on seat. 16.1) Gently pry bottom right side of front dash stereo trim panel to release clip. 17.1) Work up right side of front dash stereo trim panel releasing clips. 18.1) Work across top of front dash stereo trim panel releasing clips. 19.1) Work down left side of front dash stereo trim panel releasing clips. 20.1) Grasp front dash stereo trim panel and pull top edge from dash. 21.1) Pull entire front dash stereo trim panel from dash, watch all wires and vacuum tubing on panel not to pinch any connections. 22.1) Gently turn top of panel right toward passenger seat and allow panel to lay down. 23.1) Laying front dash stereo trim panel down allows access to two mounting screws left of car stereo, remove screws. 24.1) Remove one mounting screw right side of car stereo. 25.1) Pull car stereo forward from dash. 26.1) Remove antenna jack from car stereo. 27.1) Release trigger on connector to disconnect. 28.1) Release and remove car stereo.

Diagrams may not be applicable to Bose Audio Systems     IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2) brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first. Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo.
