Pontiac Grand Prix Front Speaker Removal and Replace
Pontiac Grand Prix How to Remove Speakers and Install
1.1) Gently pull top triangular
panel from top of door panel releasing clips and remove.
2.1) Remove two screw covers
from door pull handle cavity.
3.1) Remove two exposed screws.
4.1) Gently pry back edge of
control panel from arm rest area.
5.1) Pull control panel from
door panel.
6.1) Release triggers on
connectors and disconnect. Remove panel.
7.1) Starting at bottom of door
panel, pull panel from door releasing clips.
7.2) Work your way up front and rear edges of door panel releasing all
clips.
8.1) Lift door panel from window
jam.
8.2) Slide door panel forward to release door open handle through door
panel.
9.1) Pull top edge of panel
down.
9.2) Release triggers on remaining connectors at front of door panel to
disconnect.
10.1) Release trigger on courtesy
light connector to disconnect and remove door panel.
11.1) Remove screws securing car
stereo speaker to door panel.

Pontiac Grand Prix How to Replace Speakers and Installation
1.1) Reach under leading edge of
bottom rear seat cushion an pull tab to release clip and cushion.
2.1) There are two clips, each
centered between seat at each passenger position.
3.1) Pull front edge of seat
cushion up and remove.
4.1) Remove bolt along bottom of
rear back seat cushion.
5.1) Remove plastic covers from
screws along bottom of rear back seat cushion.
6.1) Remove bolts securing seat
belts and rear back seat cushion.
7.1) Pull bottom edge of rear
seat cushion form back seat, this loosens rear back seat cushion for
removal.
8.1) Lift rear back seat cushion
straight up, this releases all hooks along back of seat for removal.
9.1) With pry bar or flat head
screw driver, pry under panel to release clip.
10.1) Release all clips along
front edge of rear deck panel.
11.1) Pull driver's side, side
panel from car releasing clips and remove panel.
12.1) Pull passenger's side, side
panel from car releasing clips and remove panel.
13.1) Grasp leading edge of rear
deck panel, lift panel up to release over child seat securing hooks and
pull panel toward front of car.
14.1) Feed seat belt straps
through opening in rear deck panel.
15.1) Pull rear deck panel
forward and remove.
16.1) Remove screws securing rear
speakers to rear deck.

1988 - 2005
IMPORTANT - There are two (2) yellow*, two (2) gray and two (2)
brown wires in this harness. Locate the +12 volt constant wire first.
Label it or splice to constant wire on aftermarket stereo first. Swapping
yellow wires will cause damage to any aftermarket stereo. Check fuses if your unable to find +12 volts.
