How to Remove Front Speaker for Toyota
Highlander |
|
1.1) At front top leading edge
of door panel, push center pin on clip in approximately 1/4 inch. |
|
2.1) Pull clip from door panel
to remove. |
|
3.1) When reinstalling this
clip, push center pin back through clip approximately 1/4 inch. |
|
4.1) Place clip back into
opening on door panel.
4.2) Push center pin in, flush with clip to lock into place. |
|
5.1) Gently pry screw cover from
door open handle cavity. |
|
6.1) Remove exposed screw. |
|
7.1) Gently pry door handle trim
panel from door. Place small flat head screw driver between trim panel and
door lock.
7.2) Pry trim panel up, prying against door lock to release clip. All clips
release with pressure. |
|
8.1) Gently pry door handle trim
panel from door. Place small flat head screw driver between trim panel and
door open handle.
8.2) Pry trim panel down, prying against door open handle to release clip |
|
9.1) Grasp edge of trim panel
and pull toward back of door panel to release securing hook on front of
trim panel. |
|
10.1) Release trim panel over
door handle and remove. |
|
11.1) When reinstalling trim
panel, notice small hook on back of trim panel.
11.2) Push trim panel forward to lock hook into place before snapping trim
panel into place. |
|
12.1) Gently pry leading edge of
control panel from door. |
|
13.1) Lift leading edge of
control panel up and pull toward front of door panel to release rear hook. |
|
14.1) Remove control panel.
14.2) Release trigger on connector to disconnect. |
|
15.1) Remove control panel and
set to side.
NOTE - When reinstalling door panel,
be sure to route control panel connector to opening in door panel. |

16.1) Insert pry tool into
leading edge of hand hold pocket on door panel.
16.2) Push pry tool in under panel to stop, this will release clip under hand
hold pocket. |
|
17.1) Pry up to remove, release
leading edge of hand hold pocket. |
|
18.1) Remove hand hold pocket
from door panel. |
|
19.1) Remove exposed screw from
hand hold pocket removal. |
|
20.1) Gently pry top edge of top
panel from door. |
|
21.1) Pull top edge of top panel
back from door to see if clip is cleared from mount. |
|
22.1) Lift top panel straight up
to release lower hook and remove panel. |
|
23.1) Starting a bottom rear edge
of door panel, gently pry panel from door releasing clips. |
|
24.1) Work you way across bottom
of panel, then up front and back sides of panel to release all clips. |
|
25.1) Lift back edge of door
panel up out of window jam followed by leading edge of door panel. |
|
26.1) Turn top edge of door panel
down for access to back of panel.
26.2) Release trigger on connector at courtesy light to disconnect.
26.3) Remove door panel and set to side. |
|
27.1) Check door for panel clips
not removed with door panel. |
|
28.1) Gently pry panel clips from
door. |
|
29.1) Slide clips back onto door
panel mount, ready for reinstallation of door panel. |
|
30.1) Release trigger on
connector at tweeter to disconnect and remove screw securing tweeter to
door. |
|
31.1) Release trigger on
connector at speaker to disconnect and remove screws securing speaker to
door.

aftermarket installation polarity of speaker for correct hook up see Speaker Phasing above. |
