Toyota Tacoma Car Stereo Removal
and Installation |
|
1.1) Grasp AC control knob and
remove. |
|
2.1) Remove all AC knobs. Place
them in order of removal on floor. |
|
3.1) Check shafts of AC control
knobs for any remaining metal clips. |
|
4.1) Slide metal clip from AC
control shaft. |
|
5.1) Place metal clip back into
knob slot. |
|
6.1) Gently pry corner of AC
control panel from dash releasing clips. All clips release with pressure. |
|
7.1) Work your way across bottom
of panel releasing clips. |
|
8.1) Remove AC control panel and
set to side. |
|
9.1) Remove one screw in AC
control panel cavity left and up. |
|
10.1) Remove one center screw on
right side of AC control panel cavity. |
|
11.1) Open ash tray. |
|
12.1) Unlock ash tray and remove. |
|
13.1) Remove one screw on left at
top of ash tray cavity. |
|
14.1) Remove one screw on right
at top of ash tray cavity. |
|
15.1) Left side of center
console, with small screw driver, push center pin on clip in 1/4 inch. |
|
16.1) Gently pry surrounding base
of clip from side panel. |
|
17.1) Remove entire clip. |
|
18.1) For installation of clip,
push center pin of clip back through base 1/4 inch. |
|
19.1) Place base of clip back
into opening on panel. |
|
20.1) Push center pin in, flush
with base to lock in place. |
|
21.1) Repeat pin and base removal
for right side of center console. |
|
22.1) Grasp back of panel. |
|
23.1) Pull panel forward
releasing clips. |
|
24.1) From left side, grasp back
or panel. |
|
25.1) Pull panel forward
releasing clips. |
|
26.1) Pull panel up over lower
center console for access. |
|
27.1) Remove connectors at
lighter sockets, remove panel and set to side. |
|
28.1) Remove one screw at back of
ash tray assembly exposed from panel removal. |
|
29.1) Grasp back edge of front
panel. |
|
30.1) Pull panel forward
releasing clips. |
|
31.1) Work your way up side of
panel and around to other side of panel releasing all clips. |
|
32.1) Pull front panel slightly
from dash. |
|
33.1) Reach over top of panel,
release trigger on connector to disconnect. |
|
34.1) Release trigger on second
connector to release and disconnect. |
|
35.1) Pull top edge of panel away
from dash and lay toward floor on passenger side. Keeping all lower
connections to panel connected. |
|
36.1) Remove one screw top left
of car stereo. |
|
37.1) Remove one screw bottom
left of car stereo. |
|
38.1) Remove two screws right
side of car stereo. |
|
39.1) Pull car stereo from dash. |
|
40.1) Remove antenna and release
trigger on connectors to disconnect. |
|
41.1) During reinstallation of
front panel, at top, route top wire bundle away from AC vent opening in
dash so panel will seat when pushed back into place. |

42.1) At bottom of front panel
during installation, be sure bottom clip mates to opening before pushing
remainder of front panel into place. |
