Stereo asks for code,
no turn on or will on then powers off?
This problem was troubleshot to poor connections on the
ceramic fuses in the fuse box under the hood. Access the fuses, twist each
fuse in it's holder. This will clean the contacts at both ends of the fuse
and may bring the stereo back to a more reliable working condition.
BMW Pioneer Car Radio
With infrared or finger slide
control. Defective tape, poor or improper operation of
balance/fader/bass/treble control, display dim, scratchy volume control.
BMW
Display out or half of the back
lighting is out. Poor audio quality speakers cut in an out and loud
popping, squealing, static, after several minutes of play or with rotation of volume
control. No tape. Car stereo is intermittent or will not power on.
Alpine or Pioneer

No tape, dim display, and crackling from
volume control.
Accepts cartridge but does not
play CDs, check first to see if CDs are inserted properly into cartridge.
There is a "Reset" button below the "Open/Eject" button, try resetting.
Or, there may be an aftermarket Pioneer available, it may be a direct plug in, check your local car
stereo shops for applications.

Matsushita Changer
CD changer jammed, shows err code on stereo, does not operate
properly. Try disconnecting all connections and waiting several minutes.
Reconnect, this can act as a "Reset" and may bring the changer back to life.

CD changer jammed, shows err code on stereo, does not operate
properly. Try disconnecting all connections and waiting several minutes.

Alpine Business Car Audio
Display unit has erratic volume
control. We suggest a trip to Radio Shack for their Control/Contact Cleaner.
You need to access the control, spray, rotate control and repeat. This
should bring it back to life.
BMW Amplifiers
We have seen several different manufacturers
for these amplifiers and up to eight different hook up scenarios. There is
no technical support for the repair of these unit. We are not able to
support any repair on these amplifiers at this time.

Pioneer CD
Changer
CD load Err, but cycles mechanically, check first to see if CDs are inserted properly into cartridge.
Try aftermarket Pioneer, it may be a direct plug in, check you local car
stereo installation shops for applications and adaptors. We no longer repair
this CD changer.
