Radio on with low or no volume could be car stereo or amplifier. This requires some troubleshooting on your part. Particularly on the '92 Nakamichi system, there is no amplifier in the trunk. Speakers will have low volume then be fine the next day, this is a stereo problem, $145-165. Nakamichi - No audio from one or more
speakers. This problem may be defective speakers with Nakamichi only. See

| Lexus Nakamichi Audio Amplifier Repair

Before Thinking of Replacing Amplifier Is it a speaker or Nakamichi amplifier problem? Speaker
problems are common in the Nakamichi system. If your car's tweeter works and
the door speaker
does not, the door speaker is bad. It is always best to check speakers
before removing the amplifier for repair. Try a working speaker in a non-working position
for testing purposes.

If you have been checking
around, this is a common stereo/CD changer to have problems. One of the more
common ones we see in shop for repair for CD mechanism jammed, CD's do not
ejected and/or ERR 3. We presently do not repair this CD changer. We are
actively looking for a parts distributor so they may be repaired
economically. All jammed CD's are returned with car stereo. Any attempt at removal can add $100+ to the repair rate above.

We have seen very few of these amplifiers in shop in need of repair. Most times it is water damage because the passenger window is left down, this amplifier sits under the passenger seat. If this amplifier goes out, remove immediately. Remove the covers from the amplifier and take your hair dryer to the circuit boards. There is a good chance you will bring it back to life. Check the connections for water damage too. Repair rate. | ||
